Indonesia Climbs to 123rd in FIFA Rankings, Erick Thohir: Keep Up the Hardwork to Break into the World’s Top 100

Good news comes for the Indonesian National Team. Two matches completed in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers last March have propelled Indonesia to rank 123rd in the latest FIFA rankings, released on April 3, 2025.

The Chairman of the PSSI (Indonesian Football Association), Erick Thohir, expressed gratitude for achieving the best ranking in the last 15 years. With this achievement, Erick emphasized once again that hard work will always pay off.

“Alhamdulillah, the victory against Bahrain in the Asian World Cup Qualifiers has lifted Indonesia’s position in the FIFA rankings by 4 spots to rank 123. This 123rd position is Indonesia’s best FIFA ranking in the past 15 years,” he stated in Jakarta, Thursday (March 3).

“We will continue to work hard and strive to bring Indonesia into the top 100 rankings globally. Bismillah,” he added.

Erick also hopes that the additional points in the FIFA rankings will serve as a positive momentum and remain stable until June. In June, Indonesia will conclude its Group C 2026 World Cup Qualifiers with two matches: hosting China at the SUGBK Stadium on June 5 and facing Japan in Osaka on June 10.
